The ordinary is more than that.
I work on a computer from home, and I sit in front of screens just like a lot of us. But I like that I can be typing away and still stop to go check the garden when I hear a bird’s song I don’t recognize.
I like when my boyfriend writes me love notes on receipt paper. I like that my sons still pick me flowers from their neighborhood walks. I like that my girlfriends are always giving and trading little treasures to put in each other’s junk journals. And I like writing REAL letters with my REAL hand on REAL paper.
That's why I started Message in a Bottle.
So we don’t forget to appreciate things like that…
I’m an artist with a tech job, working remotely from beautiful Cozumel for 13 years. I make paintings, murals, greeting cards, junk journals, and now, a monthly mail club that sends a little piece of island life straight to your mailbox.
Every month’s mailing is inspired by one of my paintings. Filled with things you can touch, write in, stick on something, give, or ponder for awhile.
It's my way of saying: put down your phone. Go make something with your hands. Write someone a note. Stick a flower in it. :)
There's so much beauty in the ordinary. I just want to remember to notice it.
